State checking sewage spill in western Missouri creek

A state agency says an estimated 107,000 gallons of untreated wastewater leaked into a western Missouri creek earlier this week. The Department of Natural Resources is collecting water samples from Mill Creek in Independence. Residents in the area were being notified.
